Touro University Nevada Welcomes Prospective Students to Fall Open House

Touro University Nevada hosted its Fall Open House for prospective students on Oct. 11.

Interested students were able to tour the university’s campus and learn about all programs from both current students and faculty. In addition to learning about the programs that Touro offers, those in attendance received a better understanding of both the admissions and financial aid processes from Touro’s friendly Student Affairs staff.

“Open House is an incredible opportunity for prospective students to gain a fresh perspective of what it’s like to be part of the Touro family,” said Tava McGinty-Jimenez, Touro’s director of admissions. “Not only do they get to learn what we offer as a university, they learn about it from our students and faculty who were once in their shoes.”

Yasmin Sarafat drove in from Southern California so she could learn more about Touro’s occupational therapy (OT) program during Open House. A graduate of UC-Davis, Safarat was impressed with the campus, as well as the students she met.

“I love that Touro’s OT program switched from a Master’s to a Doctorate. That really shows me they are trying to stay ahead of the curve,” she said. “I have friends who just finished their OT programs back home and they loved it. I didn’t know much about OT before, but now that I’ve learned so much more about it, I just want to find out where my purpose is. Hopefully that place is here at Touro University Nevada.”

Touro’s next Open House will be held on May 2, 2019.
